AI Halloween Makeup: Try Face Paint Before You Paint

Skull, vampire, zombie SFX, glam witch, creepy doll and cracked porcelain looks on your own face.

Updated

AI Halloween Makeup paints a look onto your own face photo before you touch a brush. Upload a sharp, front-facing selfie and pick one of six looks: Skull, Vampire, Zombie SFX, Glam Witch, Creepy Doll or Cracked Porcelain. Then choose Keep Background, Dark Studio or Mirror Selfie. The makeup is rendered like real face paint on skin, not a mask or a new face. Your face shape, features, eye color, hairline and expression stay the same. The seventh card, Custom costume, takes your own makeup idea in up to 150 characters.

How to Use the AI Halloween Makeup

  1. Step 1

    Upload a clear face photo

Choose a sharp selfie or portrait that faces the camera, with even light on both sides of your face. Pull hair back from the forehead if you can. Avoid sunglasses, beauty filters and strong shadows. Sign in to upload; new Google and Gmail accounts get enough signup credits for one makeup preview.

  2. Step 2

Pick a look and a background

Tap one of six makeup cards, from Skull to Cracked Porcelain, or Custom costume to describe your own. Then choose Keep Background, Dark Studio or Mirror Selfie. Dark Studio makes the paint pop, while Mirror Selfie looks like a real bathroom check. The square 1:1 frame suits profiles. Advanced settings change quality or count.

  3. Step 3

Generate and use it as your guide

Press Paint My Halloween Look and wait about a minute. Zoom in on the result to see where each color sits, then download it. Keep it open on your phone while you paint for real. Try a second look with the same photo to compare. All results are saved in My Creations.

Write Your Own Halloween Makeup

Tap Custom costume and describe the makeup in up to 150 characters. Name colors and where they go for the best results. Try one of these.

  • “Glittery moth with silver eyeliner and fuzzy brows”

  • “Galaxy face paint with purple swirls and white stars”

  • “Half-face jack-o-lantern with orange paint and black teeth”

Halloween Makeup Ideas on Your Own Face

Man with pale vampire makeup, smoky red eyes and deep red lips on his own face

Face paint, not a face swap

The prompt asks for makeup that looks applied on skin, with real texture showing through. Your face shape, features, eye color, hairline and expression stay the same. Clothing and hairstyle stay as they are unless the look calls for a small accent. That makes the preview useful as a real plan. You can see how a skull jaw sits on your own jawline. It also shows whether a dark lip or a pale base suits your skin tone before you buy anything.

Paint My Own Face
Woman with black and white skull face paint and painted teeth along her lips

Skull makeup, mapped to your features

Skull makeup is the most searched look each October, and the hardest to freehand. The preset uses a white base, black eye sockets and nose, painted teeth along the lips and soft grey contour on the cheekbones. Seeing it on your face first shows where the sockets and teeth should land. Use the result as a stencil guide when you paint.

Spooky, glam or creepy in one tap

Not every Halloween look has to be scary. Glam Witch uses emerald shimmer, winged liner, black lips and small face gems. Creepy Doll and Cracked Porcelain lean eerie, with painted lashes and fine crack lines. Zombie SFX adds grey skin and one small makeup scratch, never real wounds. Fake blood only appears as a tiny accent on the vampire lip.

Compare Three Looks

Your own makeup idea in one line

Tap Custom costume and describe a look in up to 150 characters, like a glittery moth with silver eyeliner. Your words go into the same makeup prompt as the presets. The tool adds a line asking for a makeup-only take, so your clothes stay the same. Name colors and placement for the best results, such as gold cheek stars.

Describe My Own Makeup

Ways to Use a Makeup Preview

  • Makeup preview before painting

Check that a look suits you before you buy paint and brushes.

Example: Compare Skull and Glam Witch, then shop for one palette.

  • Halloween selfie

Post a seasonal selfie even if you skip the real paint.

Example: A Mirror Selfie vampire for your story.

  • Makeup tutorial thumbnail

Show the finished look in your video thumbnail or pin.

Example: A Dark Studio skull as the cover of a makeup reel.

  • Last-minute party look

Pick a simple look you can copy in under an hour.

Example: Creepy Doll needs only white base, blush and liner.

Photo Tips for Makeup Previews

  • Face the camera straight on, with even light on both cheeks. Side light hides half the makeup.
  • Pull hair back from your forehead and temples. The paint needs room at the hairline.
  • Use a bare or lightly made-up face. Heavy existing makeup can blend into the new look.
  • Remove glasses if you can. Frames break up eye sockets and liner placement.
  • Hold the phone at eye level and fill most of the frame with your face and shoulders.
  • Use a sharp photo with no beauty filter. Smoothed skin makes the paint look flat.

Best Look and Background Combos

  • Skull + Dark Studio: crisp black and white paint under a soft key light.

  • Glam Witch + Mirror Selfie: emerald shimmer in warm vanity light.

  • Cracked Porcelain + Dark Studio: fine gold cracks on a smooth white base.

  • Zombie SFX + Keep Background: grey skin and sunken eyes in your own room.

AI Halloween Makeup FAQ

How does AI Halloween Makeup work?

You upload a face photo and pick a look and a background. The AI paints the makeup onto your face as if it were applied on skin. A worked example: a front-facing selfie, Skull, Dark Studio, Fast · Medium, 1:1 and one image. You get white skull paint, black sockets and painted teeth on your own face, lit on a charcoal backdrop.

Which Halloween makeup ideas are easiest to copy?

Creepy Doll and Vampire are the easiest, because they use a base, blush, liner and lipstick. Glam Witch needs shimmer shadow and a steady liner. Skull and Cracked Porcelain take longer, but the preview shows exactly where each line goes. Zombie SFX needs grey paint and dark shadow.

Can I use the result as a skull makeup guide?

Yes. Open the image on your phone next to the mirror and copy the shapes. The preview shows where the eye sockets, nose and teeth land on your own face. The AI image is a guide, not a professional chart, so adjust lines to your real features.

How much does a makeup preview cost?

The default Fast · Medium setting costs 15 credits per image, including the reference photo. New accounts that use Google sign-in or a Gmail address get 20 free credits, enough for one portrait. Images made with free credits carry a small watermark until you buy a plan or credit pack. Higher quality settings cost more, and the total always appears before you generate.

Is gory makeup supported?

No. Looks stay costume-level: face paint, SFX shadows and at most a small fake-blood accent. Real wounds and graphic effects are not generated. Every prompt, upload and result passes a safety check, and anything that fails is refunded.

What are the limits of the makeup preview?

It works with one face per photo. Very fine details, like thin crack lines or lash strokes, may vary between attempts. The colors are an approximation, so real products can look different on your skin. Glasses, hair over the face and harsh shadows lower the quality.
